MINIATURE 
DACHSHUNDS

A little bit about the breed ~ Dachshunds come in 6 different breeds. 3 coat types smooth, long and wire. 2 different sizes standard and miniature. Standards weigh between 25 - 30pounds in practice even though the standard says up to 26 pounds. The miniatures weigh between 10-13 pounds.  the temperament of the Dachshund is very intelligent lively, can be noisy when people come to the house but generally they will settle down, love to snuggle, love going on walks, very affectionate and eager to please. The dachshunds Originated from Germany they were originally bred for hunting round badgers, rabbits and fox. They are also used for tracking wounded game and have a very strong sense of smell. The dachshunds are recommended to get regular daily grooming with a brush or a comb. Good family companion provided you give them exercise and mental stimulation. The smooth haired Dachshund are a little bit more reserved towards strangers and the long haired Dachshunds are more laid back. They do not like to be left alone for long periods of time, they like to be involve with you all the time. They are very good with Children especially if they have been brought up with them as puppies.
